About Us

History

Cornell Village Public School is named after the beautiful village of Cornell.  The community focuses on developing a close and neighbourly community life.  Our school has quickly become one of the major hubs for community life and ongoing life-long learning.

Our school motto, ‘We are a Village, Growing Together', is based on many of the major priorities in our School Plan.

Our school mascot is the ‘Cornell Cobra'.

Facilities

Cornell Village P.S. began classes in September 2003 and our official opening is scheduled for April 22, 2004.

Our school is located at 168 Country Glen Road in the eastern area of Markham.  The school attendance area is bounded on the south by Highway #7, on the west by the Ninth Line, on the east by the Tenth Line and on the north by Major MacKenzie.

A child-care centre Cornell Daycare Centre, owned and operated by Upper Canada Creative Child Care is located at Cornell Village P.S. and provides daycare before and after school.  The centre staff works closely with teachers and parents and administration to support students attending the school.

Mission

At Cornell Village P.S., we are committed to ensuring that all students experience academic growth and character development in order that they may actively participate and contribute to local, regional and world communities.
